England women took a two-nil lead in their five-match ODI series against India with an emphatic 10-wicket win at Taunton on Monday.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first proved a rather fruitless choice as the hosts capitulated to 102 all out in 45.1 overs.
Things could have been considerably worse for Mithali Raj's team, had she not led from the front with an unbeaten 53.
19-year-old spinner Holly Colvin was chief destroyer for the English, snapping up four for 20. Seamer Katherine Brunt did her bit with three for 14.
England openers Sarah Taylor and Caroline Atkins were ruthless in their reply, the former the aggressor with an 75 not out off 77 deliveries and the latter playing the anchor roll with an unbeaten 24 off 70 balls.
The hosts reached their target with a mammoth 25.3 overs to spare, and will look to wrap up the series when the teams meet again at the same venue on Thursday.
